The Icarus Lamp

Icarus Lamp: brass body, pheasant wings with smokey quartz centrepiece.

Continuing our avian aesthetic, we created the Icarus lamp to embody the burning ambitions of our fledgling company whilst at the same time merging our shared appreciation of antiquities and nature.
"Icarus" made his debut at our three week exhibition at The Briggait Gallery earlier this year.

We've decided it's about time we let him fly the OMARINA nest, so Icarus is now available, from our online shop, HERE.

Last weekend, our favourite stadium rockers rolled into town and we managed to grab the band for a quick backstage OMARINA shoot. They seemed in good spirits and not at all the 'unhappy campers' the press have been portraying them as of late. 

You can imagine how nuts we went when the guys dedicated their anthem "I Wanna Know What Art Is"... to "OMARINA"!!!

Here at OMARINA, we pride ourselves on inventing, designing, manufacturing, blogging about, photographing and at times even modelling our own products - but don't think that means we're not 'collaborative',  hell no...

So when 'Edinburgh-based-super-sexy-Swedish-photographer' Jannica Honey shot our bird scarf, we were so excited by two of the pictures we nearly had twins...
This gave us an idea - "let's make twins!".

A few weeks ago, fashion photographer Garry Maclennan asked to photograph me for his online portrait exhibition, Unknown. I cheekily brought along one of our OMARINA silk scarves and challenged him to incorporate it into the shoot.
